Co-Anon South Africa — for friends and family of cocaine addicts and all other mind-altering substances
Co-Anon South Africa has but one purpose – to carry the message of hope and personal recovery to family members and friends of someone who is addicted to cocaine and all other mind-altering substances. We do this by practising the Twelve Steps of Cocaine Anonymous ourselves, by understanding addiction and by welcoming and giving comfort to the family and friends of addicts, whether the addict is using or not. It is through this fellowship that we lessen our emotional despair by sharing our experience, strength and hope with others.
Co-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of individuals who are husbands, wives, parents, partners, relatives or close friends of someone who is, or has been, chemically dependent.
If you are seeking help for the problems that come from living with an active or recovering addict, we at Co-Anon can help you.
“We who live, or have lived, with the problem of addiction understand as perhaps few others can. We, too, were lonely and frustrated, but in Co-Anon we discover that no situation is really hopeless, and that it is possible for us to find contentment, and even happiness, whether the addict is still using or not.”
Quote adapted from the book “How Al-Anon Works”
